Use of : " Like " " During " " Until "
Like
Like is used to say what something or someone looks/is like. Like, as a preposition, is used;
before a noun or pronoun, to say that two things are similar.
Examples
George's sister looks like Megan Fox.
The meat smells like fish.
I look like my father.
Mary works like a slave.
It was a small animal like a Mouse.
The girl runs like a rabbit.
During
For part of a period of time. Used before a noun to say when something happens.
Examples
I watched television during a break in my studies.
They met her during the presentation.
There is no school during September.
During these years he never stopped taking bus trips.
During the war, America tried to stop trading with England. You're not allowed to talk during the exam.
Until
Up to, but not after, a specific time. To say how long a situation continues.
Examples
I will stay until four o'clock.
Are you going to work until 11:00P
Until my father came home, I read a book.
I could not get up this morning. I stayed in the bed until eleven.
I thought they had until 6:30 to finish this.
