Rule for squaring numbers 50 - 59



  1. Take the first digit (5) square and add the unit digit.

  2. Square the unit digit (always write 2 digits).

  3. Join both parts.


Examples



  • 52² → (52 = 25 + 2→ write 27), unit digit 2² = 04 → 2704

  • 54² → (52 + 4 = 25 + 4 → write 29), unit digit 4² =16 → 2916

  • 57² → (52 + 7 = 32 → write 32), unit digit 7² = 49 → 3249

  • 59² → (52 + 9 = 34 → write 34), unit digit 9² = 81 → 3481
