In simple words, the average is the equal share for everyone.
Formula for Average
Average = Total Sum of all Numbers / Number of Items
Example to Understand Average
Let’s say the marks of 5 students are: 60, 70, 80, 90, 100
1st : Add all the marks
60 + 70 + 80 + 90 + 100 = 400
2nd : Number of students = 5
3rd : Find the average:
Average = 400 / 5 = 80
So, the average marks of the 5 students is 80.
