Basic Rules of Question Tags : Question Tag ā§° āĻŽā§‚āϞ āύāĻŋ⧟āĻŽāϏāĻŽā§‚āĻš


1. Positive sentence → Negative tag : āχāϤāĻŋāĻŦāĻžāϚāĻ• āĻŦāĻžāĻ•ā§āϝ⧰ āĻĒāĻŋāĻ›āϤ āύ⧇āϤāĻŋāĻŦāĻžāϚāĻ• tag āĻŦā§āĻ¯ā§ąāĻšāĻžā§° āĻšā§Ÿ


Example: You are coming, aren’t you ? → āϤ⧁āĻŽāĻŋ āφāĻšāĻŋ āφāĻ›āĻž, āύāĻšā§Ÿ āύ⧇āĻ•āĻŋ ?


2. Negative sentence → Positive tag : āύ⧇āϤāĻŋāĻŦāĻžāϚāĻ• āĻŦāĻžāĻ•ā§āϝ⧰ āĻĒāĻŋāĻ›āϤ āχāϤāĻŋāĻŦāĻžāϚāĻ• tag āĻŦā§āĻ¯ā§ąāĻšāĻžā§° āĻšā§Ÿ


Example: She isn’t ready, is she ?→ āϤāĻžāχ āĻĒā§ā§°āĻ¸ā§āϤ⧁āϤ āύāĻšā§Ÿ, āύāĻšā§Ÿ āύ⧇āĻ•āĻŋ ?


3. Auxiliary verb in sentence → Same auxiliary in tag : āĻŦāĻžāĻ•ā§āϝāϤ āϝāĻĻāĻŋ auxiliary verb āĻĨāĻžāϕ⧇, tag āϤ āĻāϕ⧇ verb āĻŦā§āĻ¯ā§ąāĻšāĻžā§° āĻšā§Ÿ
