They emphasize individual members of a group.

Types of Distributive Pronouns


1. Each : 1. Refers to every one separately. 2. Can be used for two or more than two.


Ex: Correct :  Each of the students is present. Wrong : Each of the students are present.


2. Either: 1. Means one of two 2. Choice between two persons or things


Ex: Either of the two answers is correct.


3. Neither: 1. Means not one and not the other. 2. Refers to none of the two


Ex: Neither of the boys is absent.
