Noun Phrase

Definition : A Noun Phrase is a group of words that acts like a noun in a sentence.

Structure : Determiner + Adjective(s) + Noun + Extra Information

Examples

• The big house

Examples in Sentences

1. The intelligent boy won the prize. Noun Phrase: The intelligent boy


2. She bought a very expensive car. Noun Phrase: a very expensive car

Types of Noun Phrase

1. Simple Noun Phrase : Contains Determiner + Noun

Examples: i.  The dog, ii. A pen

2. Expanded Noun Phrase : Contains adjectives or extra information

Examples: i. The cute little puppy, ii. An old wooden chair

সংজ্ঞা : শব্দৰ এটা গোট যি বাক্যত নামপদৰ দৰে কাম কৰে, তাক নামবাচক বাক্যাংশ (Noun Phrase) বোলা হয়।
